We booked an overnight stay here via Secret Escapes having had good previous experiences at other hotels and I can honestly say that this hotel will be added to the list. Very easy to find being just 10 – 15 mins from M4 which was one of the attractions when we decided to choose this hotel. On arrival we received a lovely friendly welcome from the young girl at reception which is always nice and she then told us that we’d been given a room upgrade to a Suite. We then arrived at our suite which to be honest was huge. The bedroom area had a large bed , two comfortable chairs and a dressing table yet still plenty of room. A long hallway passing the wardrobes led you to a large and very spacious bathroom with a walk in shower and a bath the size of a swimming pool. The other pleasing thing was that everywhere was very clean and tidy. BEDROOM SUITE 1

Once unpacked we decided to have a look round the hotel and garden. The first thing you notice is that everywhere is very clean and well looked after. We didn’t use the spa area but it did seem very popular with the other guests although no one seemed to want to use the heated outside pool but then it was a cold day. So may have to revisit as it did look a nice plan to relax

After finishing our little tour we thought as it was too late for lunch that we’d have afternoon tea but unfortunately this was fully booked so we ended up in the bar area to have something of the bar menu only to be told that the only food on offer after 2pm is sandwiches. This turned out to be the only slight downside to the stay especially as the sandwiches we ordered were ok but not great. After chilling out in our suite for a couple of hours we then got ready for the evening which started with a pre dinner drink at the bar where they also have an extensive choice of Gin plus a a great local Rebellion IPA & Lager from Marlow. Now it was time for dinner in a lovely spacious restaurant and this also turned out to be a delightful experience with good food & very friendly service especially from our waitress Thalia. We started with a Ham & Leek Terrine and a delightful Flaked Trout with Apple. This was followed by our main courses of a fabulous Braised Shin of Beef & a Wild Mushroom Risotto . Then to finish it was time for desserts a Chocolate & Baileys Tart , a Vanilla Creme Brûlée & a deconstructed Peanut Butter Cheesecake which was ok but personally why would you want to do that to a Cheesecake. Anyway this brought an end to a lovely meal where we finished with a coffee in the bar.

This brought us to the morning and after a lovely nights rest it was time for breakfast which was a buffet with a great selection of hot & cold food which was constantly being refreshed and even if you required anything else it was not considered a problem

We then checked out bringing an end to a relaxing overnight stay to which I would definitely recommend as it’s in a ideal location for access to motorways. It’s also a good place for all types of functions and a great place to relax with the friendly staff taking good care of anything you need
