My Amazing Festive December

Well it’s the last month of the year and for me personally it certainly was one of the best with the food and service being of the highest order . Our first delightful experience was to visit The Ritz Restaurant situated in a glorious hotel where the dining room really does take your breath away. The food was stunning the wines were amazing and the engagement between the staff and ourselves made this an occasion not to forget

A Great November

An excellent way to start the month was to visit my second home Haywards but this time for a great Cooking Demo with Chef Jahdre & pastry chef Rebecca who demonstrated the making of a delightful Salted Caramel Tart this was followed on the Sunday with another visit to the Jobbers Rest for a lovely family Sunday Roast . We continued the month with a fantastic lunch at the Typing Room where the food , wine & service was once again 1st class. Our next trip was back to Haywards but on this occasion they were joined by the head chef from Rubino Kitchen and created a amazing Tasting Menu to promote a great book for Essex Restaurants & Chefs and now to the end of the month and what a finale it was while staying at Claridges and enjoying there stunning food at breakfast the evenings were spent at two fantastic restaurants firstly at Jinjuu Mayfair for some amazing Korean food so glad we returned as the food is absolutely delicious then on the following evening it was one of the highlights of the year with a visit to Marcus at the Berkeley and with Marcus Wareing at the helm we new it would be excellent and indeed it was the food amazing along with the wine which perfectly matched each course and with top quality service the evening was a real treat and rounded of a fantastic month

See you in the festive month of December

My October Feast

So here we are in October and it started with an amazing return visit to Oklava in Shoreditch for a fantastic Turkish lunch and a whole different menu to our previous visit it really is food heaven so on the Sunday what you need after tasting that amazing Turkish food is a good English Sunday Roast and that’s exactly what we got at The Jobbers Rest in Upminster which is very quickly becoming one of our favourite places . The following week took us to a New place right in the heart of Covent Garden called Vini Italiani just a small place and mainly renowned for it’s Italian wine but the food they do produce is is of a high quality. This took us on to the Sunday and after having a long day in town we didn’t want to go to far and lucky for us we didn’t have to so yes it was a short walk to the Smokin Griddle for the best burgers you will taste for a long time they are just fantastic along with great shakes , fries & onion rings simply devine . Now the next weekend was definitely the highlight of the month with visits to two of my favourite restaurants firstly to The Artichoke in Amersham for a stunning New Lunch Tasting Menu where once again the food and service was faultless and in my mind a very underrated place and then the Sunday brought us to our second home which is Haywards in Epping for a Sunday Lunch and yes it was as good as always. To round of the month we had a nice family Sunday Lunch at a New place for us The Thatched House which is part of the Vintage Inn chain but I have to say it was a lovely afternoon with nice food and good friendly service . See you in November Happy Dining

Then it was holiday time before easing into september which was spent locally at Jobbers Rest & Haywards where we enjoyed a fantastic Tasting Menu with excellent matched wines then came the highlight of the year so far and wow a amazing lunch  at Core by Clare Smyth truly outstanding food & service and a return will be sooner rather than later.
